Reopening of the Manufacturing Industry

  • Starting on May 11, 2020, manufacturing companies in all regions of Québec can resume their activities. However, they must at all times throughout the day limit staff per shift on a given site to a maximum of 50 workers and 50% of the employees exceeding the limit of 50 workers. 
  • Starting on May 25, 2020, manufacturing companies throughout Québec will be authorized to resume their operations with no restriction on the number of employees present to ensure such operations.

Support to truck drivers 

In the context of the COVID-19, Camo-route (Comité sectoriel de main-d’œuvre de l’industrie du transport routier au Québec) notices a problematic regarding the access to sanitary installations and rest areas for truck drivers when making deliveries and picking up merchandise from clients. In order to support drivers in their job and to assure them healthy and safe working conditions, Camo-route is asking that sanitary installations and rest areas remain accessible to them, who are playing an essential role in routing merchandise of all kind (medication, food, oil products, etc.).

Post-crisis recovery

  • The IRSST (Institut de recherche Robert-Sauvé en santé et sécurité du travail) prepared an action plan for the planification of the resumption of activities in workplaces, following the mandatory business closure. The dowloadable plan suggests the steps to follow to prevent risks of COVID-19 transmission. Downloadable plan (in French only)
