Québec Furniture in the Spotlight all year long! The Québec Furniture Manufacturers´ Association launches the 2nd edition of its Web Magazine and much more!

Montréal, February 28, 2018 – The Québec Furniture Manufacturers’ Association (QFMA) is proud to publish the second edition of its Web Magazine, a user-friendly tool where you can discover at a glance nearly one hundred beautiful products made by its members. This Web Magazine is part of a strategy to promote Québec Furniture that will be rolled out in the coming months.

In 2018, the QFMA will launch several promotion and visibility initiatives for Québec Furniture, in light of various data which include a Léger survey, commissioned by the QFMA and conducted among 1,000 consumers. According to this survey, 98% of the respondents have a positive or very positive perception of Québec-made furniture, but 86% of them have a hard time finding locally-made furniture. "To better meet the needs of consumers, we created a new Québec Furniture logo to be deployed in collaboration with furniture manufacturers and retailers. With this logo, it will be easier to identify Québec-made furniture in retails stores, on websites, in flyers, and other communication tools, " noted Pierre Richard, President and CEO of the QFMA.

The latest responsible consumption barometer published by UQÀM’s Observatoire de la consommation responsable (OCR) in November 2017, confirms the QFMA’s choice. In fact, the barometer suggests that 83% of Québec consumers are influenced in their furniture selection by logos or branding displaying Québec-made origin, including the fleur de lys insignia.

The Québec Furniture promotion strategy follows the Buy Local trend, which helps protect businesses and the environment. "Buying Quebec Furniture also becomes a job-creating choice: the furniture industry totals 30,000 jobs in some 1,500 establishments in Quebec, which makes it one of the seven largest employers in the manufacturing sector in the province. The purchasing habits of consumers, businesses, and public organizations are essential to the success and prosperity of our local businesses, " noted Mr. Richard.

Plus, few people know that buying Québec Furniture also means having the possibility to choose the fabric, leather, wood or metal finishes, and other materials, through customization, so that each piece of furniture is perfectly adapted to your personality and decor. Thus, flipping through QFMA's Web Magazine is an opportunity to discover Québec Furniture, its designers, its diversity, and its different purposes as it can be used for relaxation, work, conversation, commerce, rest, and life... A great choice, laden with Québec's creative talent.

Along with this, in the fall, the QFMA will be launching a bilingual website to promote Québec Furniture called quebecfurniture.com which will be the only online reference featuring exclusively Quebec-made furniture. "By creating this new website, the QFMA wishes to offer a unique option among the range of digital alternatives available to consumers who are pre-shopping online for furniture. The website quebecfurniture.com will showcase products created by our manufacturers, and identify the retailers who offer them in their stores, all of this to better meet the needs of consumers, " added Mr. Richard.

The Québec Furniture Manufacturers’ Association actively contributes to the growth of the Québec furniture industry and oversees its promotion and development in Canada and internationally. Founded in 1942, the QFMA brings together manufacturers of residential, office and institutional furniture, manufacturers of furniture components, as well as product and service suppliers. The QFMA also defends the interest of its members and conveys industry issues on various speaking platforms and to government authorities.
