The QFMA at a parliamentary committee in Ottawa


On Monday, October 3, 2016, the QFMA represented by its CEO, Pierre Richard, and the Vice-President of the QFMA board of directors, Réjean Poitras, Chairman and CEO of Amisco, submitted a brief to the Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology of the House of Commons in Ottawa.


This committee is currently conducting a study on the Canadian manufacturing sector to develop recommendations needed for Canada’s manufacturing industry. Many issues being examined by the committee affect the Canadian furniture manufacturing industry, notably from the standpoint of job losses, innovation, and manpower shortages.


The brief submitted by the AFMQ presented the following elements:

The QFMA made a 10-minute presentation and shared the 75-minute question period with the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada. The QFMA has put forward key issues of our industry and its recommendations.
